Rocket Building 101

Introduction

I am building a very pink pretty rocket, I am building it because Mr.D told me to, and I want a cute rocket that also can succeed in flying pretty nicely. I want my rocket to not come crashing down after a few seconds. I hope I can learn center of gravity and to even out my whole rocket so that it is a success.

Nose Cone and Fins

I chose my design for my nose cone because I wanted something simple and basic that I could have a lot of references to look at when building it into onshape. I also chose it because its very cute. My nose cone is kinda small and thin so I needed my fins to be medium sized to even out my rocket and make it look the way I wanted it to.

Building Phase

Center of gravity & Center of Pressure

My rocket will fly by the engine mount putting pressure onto the powder which ignites a flame thingy and it will get pushed up by the pressure shooting the rocket up, and it will propel into the air and fly up. The parachute ribbon will make sure the rocket lands safely and doesn’t cause damage so it can hopefully return to flight and be launched twice in total.

Flight

Conclusion

I really liked my rocket it was very cute, and pink and sparkly and everything I wanted it to look. I loved how it flew up, it went fast but high and came down quickly but smooth enough so it didn’t crash down and fall apart making it unable to fly a second time. Next time I would make my nose cone a bit longer and wider. Other than that I was very happy with my rocket and how it flew and looked.
