My box with a roof on it

Introduction

I am doing this project, because I want a good grade. I hope to one day be able to say that I know all of the cool things I am learning in tech, not only do I enjoy most of them but I also like being able to say things like “I built a stool” or “I know how to build a wall”. I would say the purpose of this project is to get a better understanding of what it really is like to build a house. This is of course much simpler and smaller, but I would still say it gives a rough understanding.

Drafting step

Build Process

I used a box cutter for a lot of the cutting, and I used the black thing that cuts the wood. I also used hot glue, which was very helpful. I also used the blueprints to lay all of the wood pieces on and make sure they were the correct size. I used multiple different types of rulers to make sure the the roof was evenly spaced.

Conclusion

At first I was pretty discouraged because I had missed a few days of work, I for sure thought that this was not gonna be complete and I would procrastinate it like crazy, I did procrastinate it…. But my cabin is somewhat complete. I would say a few things that worked well was hot glue, hot glue is definitely one of the reasons my walls got done quick. I put hot glue and a wood glue mixture onto the wood and it stuck together very well! Choosing to use a box cutter to cut some of my wood did NOT work well, it would end up either being to short or the wood would split and I would have to shave it down causing it to be even shorter, so I will definitely not make that choice again.
